On September 4th, 2009, all of us at EECOL Electric lost a great leader, mentor, and friend. Mr. Sinneave (although he always preferred Jim) was an inspiration to us all. He always said, "Your family must come first, but I hope EECOL is a close second." Jim created a culture that we all called "The EECOL Family", and everyone was equally important in his eyes. He said, "You have to be happy coming to work; if not, maybe this company is not for you." Jim began his illustrious career with EECOL in Regina, Saskatchewan. Throughout his 60 years Jim worked in various positions in Saskatoon, Edmonton, Regina, and Calgary. In 1961 Jim was named General Sales Manager and in 1971 was appointed President of EECOL Electric. We remained under his leadership for the next 38 years. Jim was very passionate about the business. He taught us all the importance of customer service and loyalty to both suppliers and staff. Jim was also just as passionate about giving back to the communities we served and always encouraged us to be good corporate citizens. Mr. & Mrs. Sinneave were major contributors to the Children's Hospital Foundation along with a number of other worthy charities. In 2007 Mr. & Mrs. Sinneave founded the Sinneave Family Foundation. This organization is designed to help and work with people with Autism. Mr. Sinneave will be missed by all of us at EECOL, but we know with the solid foundation he has laid for us, this great company will carry on for years to come. |
